How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost for a small business in India?

The floor for chat that answers usual questions and books a slot, what that number covers, and what the free WhatsApp Business app is not.

Chat on the site and WhatsApp that answers the usual questions and books a slot starts at Rs 15,000. That number lives on the pricing page as a floor for the build, not as a monthly, and not as a promise about how many people then write back.

The WhatsApp Business app is a free-to-download app with a profile, lists and quicker replies you still type. Do not confuse that download with this build. A gym in Saket and a salon in Greater Kailash already have the pile. The spend below is for the pile that still sits after the free app is installed.

The free app is not a chatbot

Install the Business app. You get a profile, labels, and quicker replies you still write. A person still taps send. Two staff can still book the same 2pm. That download is useful. It is not the Rs 15,000 job.

The chatbot build reads a list you wrote and answers the usual fee, hours, and trial questions from that list. When the question is off the list, the thread comes to you. A slot is written once when you already have a rule for it. If you only needed labels and a greeting, stop at the free app. I will tell you that on the call.

A Saket gym that already replies to every trial before dinner does not need the build because the inbox looks modern. A Greater Kailash salon that still types the same colour price after closing, every night, might. Count the pile. Do not buy a bot to decorate the chat header.

What the floor pays for

The AI chatbots job is chat that reads your prices, timings and services and answers from those. When the question is off the list, the thread comes to you instead of a loop. A slot is written once when you already have a rule for it.

It is not Meta’s paid WhatsApp rates. I will not quote those as if they were mine. It is not a Wix or WordPress chat add-on. I will not invent those prices either.

A Saturday colour request and a quarterly fee question are the usual work. A PT diary with no written rule is not. If the diary is a notebook, the first job is one list the floor can see, so two people cannot take the same slot.

What I will not invent

I will not give you an India-wide monthly. I have not sat every inbox in the country. A made-up average would only make a bloated quote look normal.

I will not give you an open rate, a reply rate, or a booking rate. Bookings after a chat still sit with your area, your reviews, your hours, and whether a person takes the leftover thread. Count last week’s unanswered DMs. That count is yours.

I will not tell you the free app replaces the build forever. The app organises the inbox. It does not stop two people typing 2pm.

How to work out if the floor is even relevant

Keep a simple tally for seven days.

  • How many chats asked a fee, a time, or a trial.
  • How many sat past the next morning.
  • What one of those bookings is worth to you, in rupees you already charge.

If the unanswered pile is rare, keep the free app and stop. If the pile is the week, the floor can be compared with that leak. I still will not turn your tally into a payback date I cannot see.

WhatsApp chatbot or website chatbot is which channel to start on. Are chatbots actually useful is the useful-versus-looping test. How much an AI voice agent costs per month is the same refusal on the phone side.

Downsides I will not hide

You have to write the list. If the fee changes in your head and nowhere else, the bot will say the old number. A thin list makes a thin chat.

Some people still want a voice. A midnight WhatsApp is not a person at the desk. Hang-ups and “call me” messages still happen.

If keeping the bot alive needs a billed number or a model, that cost is said before I start. You own the thing.

What to bring if you write

Open WhatsApp on the shop phone. Screenshot the three questions that landed after closing. Bring those, not a wish for more leads.

Then get in touch. I will name a figure from that pile, or I will tell you the free app already holds the week and this build can wait.

The ones people actually ask.

Is Rs 15,000 the monthly fee?

No. That figure on the pricing page is for the build. If a billed number or a model has to sit in your name, those bills are named before work starts.

Is the WhatsApp Business app the same spend?

No. WhatsApp Business is a free-to-download app. A bot that answers from your list and writes a slot is extra work on top of that app.

Can I get a typical India monthly from you?

No. I have not priced every vendor in the country. Count your own unanswered chats for a week, then decide if the floor is smaller than that leak.
